What is GOSF?
The concept of GOSF in India was initiated by Google and was influenced by the ‘Cyber Monday’ sale that was offered by various online shopping portals in the US. It was the first Monday after the ‘Black Friday’ and the online portals offered huge shopping discounts to customers. This festival took place in 2005 and ever since it has spread to different countries across the world including Canada, Australia, Japan, the UK and Columbia.
GOSF in India over the years
In India it was initiated by Google on the 12th of December, 2012. Google collaborated with a large number of shopping portals, which offer heavy discounts on products for one single day to encourage online shopping sales. The Great Online Shopping Festival in India has grown leaps and bounds over the years.
